Tears of Joy - His Necklace is so Splendid! You learn something new every day. That’s what I love about blogging. You get to talk about your favorite things with people all over the blogosphere. Today I learned about the allspice necklace to aid in teething pain, something I’ve never run across in all my teething pain searches.

While reading the comments left at the Hyland’s Homeopathic Giveaway (yes, I read them all!) I found one particularly interesting bit of info in a comment left by Alexia at The Mommy Rambles. She said she’s used allspice teething necklaces for her two boys and had great success. I emailed her to find out what she was talking about. I cook with allspice. That’s about as far as that’s gone for me so far.

Alexia gives instructions on how to make the necklace, and if you’re worried about safety, she gives an alternative to making it with a magnetic clasp that pops off easily. I’m a nervous nellie, so I’d probably only use one when my son was awake and nearby, but Alexia has used them for both her sons with no problems. So use your mommy discretion.

The allspice necklace helps the teeth pop through a lot quicker (more info on Alexia’s post) but doesn’t ease teething pain, so it’s good to have a backup of teething tablets or other aids.

(Isn’t this picture of Alexia’s son Noah adorable??? Don’t worry, Noah, we’ll get our own necklace. You keep yours.)

  1. Thanks for the mention of my site :) I hope other Mama’s find the Allspice necklace useful!

Alexias last blog post..Oh the drama!

  2. I’m a huge fan, introduced to the necklace by Alexia about 2.5 years ago, and both my children benefited. Thank you Alexia! I noticed immediate, and concrete results with the use of the necklaces. My son was 13 months when I put one on him, and he was quite uncomfortable and whiny beforehand. for a few weeks we noticed he had stopped complaining and was smiling more and drooling less. then we peeked in his mouth and found 3 new teeth! that was all my husband needed to finally approve of my accessorizing our son, ha ha. I made one for my daughter, when she was 4 months old, and added her birth stone (peridot) and freshwater pearls, and that was a fun enhancement. her teething has been minimally annoying for her, at worst. I thank the necklace!
