Bambino Land Gift Certificate Giveaway

PhotobucketI spend a lot of time surfing the net, looking for companies that cover all the bases that are important to me: They must sell safe, eco-friendly products. They should have a great selection of items at fair prices. They should have a mission statement I feel comfortable and proud to share here. And if they’re involved in charity work? Extra bonus dkMommy Spot points! I recently found Bambino Land, and they get a gold star on all counts.

Bambino Land offers a fantastic and unusual selection of all sorts of things we discuss here. They have bath and body items, children’s art, clothing for all sizes of children in natural fabrics, and the most amazing kid’s furniture I have ever seen, period. (It moves me to my bohemian roots, I tell ya.)

What is most impressive to me is the charity Bambino Land supports through a percentage of their annual gross sales. Ghar Sita Mutu is a home for abandoned children in Nepal, and this charity even has a felt-making project to help support themselves. You can purchase their adorable felt puppets at Bambino Land. I’ve been in the presence of abandoned children many times, not in Nepal, but in Eastern Europe. Nothing alters your entire being like holding an abandoned child in your arms, so I have the greatest respect for anyone who moves to make a change.

So here’s the deal: Bambino Land is offering up a $25 gift certificate to one dkMommy Spot reader. They are also offering a coupon code to all of us: dk15. This is a 15% off storewide discount, and you can even use it on sale items.

  1. 25% of the world’s pesticides are sprayed on cotton. WOW. I habe always loved cotton. I didn’t relize this.

  2. I learned something very interesting on that site; I learned that ” a field must be pesticide-free for at least three years to be certified organic”. I also learned something that hit home in a way since Mr. Man was and still is a Texan that owns cotton farms. Luckily, he uses no pesticides on his farms but I had no idea that a whopping 25% of the worlds pesticides are sprayed on cotton. That is extremely disturbing to learn!
As far as a gift certificate, should I be the lucky winner, I would chose the vintage monkey probably and some baby soft socks!
thank you so much for not only the giveaway, but for opening my eyes!

  3. I’d love to try the Rileyroos Mary Jane in Brownie or maybe the Natural Hedgehog Rattle. Thanks so much for the contest!

  4. Hello! First, I always find it so heart warming when I hear that companies are donating their profits to charities that truly need the help and money, especially charities for children. Thank you for introducing them to us and offering another fine giveaway!

  5. “Bamboo is a grass, so once cut it will regenerate in the same way as your garden lawn” I wasn’t aware bamboo was classified as a grass. Their website is very informative, would love to try some of their products :)

  6. Wow, I learned bamboo absorbs 35% more carbon dioxide than equivalent stands of trees! That is so cool! Gotta make enough oxygen to keep up with the plague of humans on the earth!

  7. I didn’ t know that Organic wool is naturally resistant to flames, and will not “catch fire”, and is the best way to guard against fire-related injuries. Thanks for the contest!

  8. Who knew? Alpacas are small gentle animals raised for their natural fibers. Alpacas produce one of the world’s finest and most luxurious natural fibers. It is clipped from the animal without causing injury.
