When choosing kid’s dinnerware, you’ve probably noticed the wide array of plastic options at the store. Even baby spoons are often coated with plastic so baby’s sensitive gums aren’t irritated by metal. But what if you’re looking for a more natural alternative? Bambu, which many of us know for their great bamboo kitchen utensils, bowls, and cutting boards, also has a great line of products for kids of all ages called bambu KIDS. Their fun selection of natural spoons and forks, even bamboo plates, make eating fun!
Perhaps one of the most interesting things about the company bambu is their philosophy. They love organic bamboo because it’s a renewable resource. The company’s owners spend a lot of time onsite, visiting the small Asian villages responsible for the production of bambu items. And of course bambu is a fair trade company!
My son has been using some Bamdino utensils and plates, and he has enjoyed having something different at the table. His stuff is special – not that boring old grownup stuff. I like that bamboo is naturally antibacterial, which means I don’t have to worry about any germies sticking to the fork. And the plates come in a set of eight; since we’re a family that enjoys lots of summertime picnics, we plan on packing these up with us so we have a lightweight, unbreakable alternative to paper plates.
If you’ve got a little one just starting out with learning to use a spoon and fork, bambu offers smaller sizes perfect for 6 months and up. Great for beginners, they’re lightweight with no sharp edges. Want to win your own set? I have one set of two spoons and two forks to give to one of you as a gift from bambu.
