Little by little, the electronics in my home have been replaced by more energy efficient ones. For a few weeks now, I’ve been using the Barbar ECO 8000 Hairdryer, and it’s turned out to be a very impressive unit. I wasn’t sure how much power an energy saving hairdryer would be able to provide, but the construction of the Barbar ensures you have a surprising amount of hairdrying power. As a matter of fact, it’s easily the most powerful dryer I’ve ever had. But how can this be, seeing as it uses less power than any hairdryer I’ve ever had?
The Barbar ECO 8000 contains a ceramic heating element which heats up and provides up to 266º F. So it actually takes less energy to provide you with the styling heat you need. And since it negates radiation, it’s better for your hair. It also has a variety of settings and a cold shot release button, something I always like having on a dryer since it really helps add shine to my hair. Another great feature any mom will love is the 11 feet of cord that allows you to take care of that wiley toddler or to walk all the way out the bathroom door to tell your kids to cool it, all without having to shut the dryer off a million times to do it. (No, you’re not the only one who does that – I assure you.)
The ECO 8000 is very sturdy and well constructed. While it is heavier than its cheaper counterparts, I didn’t find it to be too heavy for comfort. It’s definitely a superior dryer to what I’ve been used to, and with features like the easy-to-remove lint trap (a favorite of mine) and a strong, solid body, I’m expecting to have a professional style dryer that will stand up to several years of use.
Barbar is generously giving away one ECO 8000 to one of you! ($150 retail). I encourage you to get in on this one – it’s a quality product, and I’m really looking forward to choosing the winner!
