What does dkMommy do when she’s not drying herbs, reviewing eco products, and fighting toy making injustices? Well, some days she curls up on the couch with one very special toddler and watches a DVD. We don’t really watch much television, so we tend to collect a few special DVD’s for my son to enjoy. They’re commercial-free, we know exactly what we’re getting, and the good ones get several viewings. Since my son is absolutely in love with dogs, I was excited to give Beethoven’s latest flick a try.
Beethoven’s Big Break comes out on DVD December 26th, and it’s never been in theaters, so this is all new furry footage. As with all the Beethoven flicks, it’s loaded with critters, slapstick humor, and plenty of Beethoven (the composer) musical references. Beethoven finds himself an up-and-coming movie star when he’s discovered by a Hollywood producer. Moises Arias (Rico from Hannah Montana) is as cute as can be as the lead role – uh – beside the other hairier lead role, of course, and my son got a big kick out of watching what to him must look like the largest dog in existence. For me, it’s a trip down memory lane of sorts. I grew up with a St. Bernard mix, so one look in those big brown eyes and I simply melt with nostalgia and the urge to hug a dog larger than I am.
Universal Studios would like to give one of you a copy of Beethoven’s Big Break ($29.98 retail). How can you win? As usual there are several ways to enter, but today’s comment will be a little different so read on!

http://tinyurl.com/6oofce Got a fav dog memory Check out dk mommy Spot for a great sweep.
today I heard a scratch on our front door (thought it was the cat) and two black dogs ran in the house….after the old grey cat !!!
was funny actually
My fav memory is when my father went out of town and when he came home a few days later he walked in with the cutest white little scraggly haired dog. He walked in and announced does anyone want this and held out the dog. I freaked. She was my best friend for many years, until she passed. I named her Prissy because she would get excited and wag her tail and her whole bottom would shake and she looks cute and prissy to me. I smile thinking about how my dad surprised me. My dad rescued her from a family that left her outside and she just lived in the woods. They were very happy to give her to my dad. Poor girl used to hide her food for along time, because she was used to the big dogs that used to steal her food.
I twittered a link too. My twitter name is SweepsGirl
Another brilliant entry! : )))

My St. Bernard used to hate for me to leave the house. She would get one piece of garbage out of the trash can for each 15 minutes I was away and put it in front of the door for me to see when I walked in. She never tore the garbage up – she just left it there to let me know she was mad at me. Thank you for the opportunity to win! Wishing you a Happy Holiday Season!
We had a little mutt growing up, part collie but very short, less than 12 inches tall. He once jumped off our balcony to chase a squirrel, a drop of about 9 feet. No ill effects. Thought he was Underdog.

My spaniel Brandy is so loyal. She is very protective of me and my children. She sleeps with me or lays at my feet if I’m sitting on the couch. She’s my buddy.
When he behaves
I remember when we got our first puppy. She was so scared. She clung to my husband and when he would take a step she would take a step and stuck right by his side. It was sad but cute.

When I was younger we had a spaniel and she had puppys, they were sooo cute&we had to bottle feed them
Looks great
We had a mastiff. If you know the bread you know that they are very passive unless provoked. He rarely barked but one time when my duaghter was younger and was walking him they were crossing a bridge when this guy approached them. Our mastiff sat in front of my daughter and started to growl at the stranger and the guy ran away. We were all surprised that the dog didn’t go up and lick him.
My favorite doggie moment was when I first laid eyes on my JRT. I had wanted one my whole life and when my BIL called and said someone was getting rid of one and asked if we wanted it. I didn’t even pause and Just said yes.We had to drive over 2hrs to get her but it was well worth it.

I had a wonderful dog named Chippy for 16 years. I was three years old at the time we got her. I picked her and she was the runt of the litter. A great companion and friend through thick and thin. I am in my 40s now and still miss her.
Here’s my last entry. Hope it works.
When I was a child we had a collie named Fluffy. She was very playful yet very protective of us. She was the only dog I remember ever having. I don’t know how long we had her but I do remember having to give her to someone because we were moving out of state and couldn’t keep her.
