Bamboo Fabric Nightgown Giveaway

Click here for Natural Beauty Week Giveaways and more!

PhotobucketThis is a most luxurious and unique giveaway – a Bamboo Nights nightgown from ComfyNights.  I’ve never tried bamboo fabric before, but after sleeping in this Bamboo Nights 48″ Spaghetti Strap Long Gown for several nights, I’m convinced that bamboo fabric is an excellent natural fabric.  No matter the length of the gown, it’s still cool and comfortable.

Bamboo fabric has a wonderful feel, sort of like cotton, but in this case it has a quality weightiness to it.  This gown is made of 96% bamboo and 4% Spandex, which works well for sleepwear since it gives when you move around in it.  I’ve put it through the wash, and it came out looking as good as it did going in, and it seems to be a very durable fabric.  Overall, bamboo is rather impressive and comfortable as a fabric.  I would definitely buy bamboo clothing in the future, and Comfy Nights has a great line of sleepwear that I feel good about recommending.  Their bamboo is grown without pesticides or fertilizers; and did you know bamboo fabric is naturally anti-microbial?  One last plus: If you’re a hot-flashin’ mama, bamboo wicks away moisture.  Oh, what a gift for a new mommy who has to deal with the night sweats!

ComfyNights is giving away one medium pink Spaghetti Strap Gown (same style as the above picture) to one lucky dkMommy Spot reader.  It’s a $75 retail value and easily one of my favorite styles on their site.  But they’ve got many others to check out, so let’s get you entered, shall we?

Have heard many good things about bamboo fabric, but haven’t tried any yet. When I looked at the Comfy Nights site, had some problems. Wanted to look at Robes, but none of the pictures came up, although the titles looked interesting. So I switched to Nightgowns, and about 5 of the first page pictures showed. Even after refreshing, that was all I could get, so, picking from that small list, my favorite was the 42″ Long, Short Sleeve Waltz Gown (even though the picture showed wide straps, not short sleeves). Will have to revisit the site to learn if this was just a temporary glitch, or if it will be more long-lasting, and possibly something they will need to work on.

I think my fave item is the 2 Piece PJ Top & Long Pant Set. It looks ultra comfy. I also learned a lot of facts about bamboo that I did not know. I have never heard of a moisture wicking fabric either until I read it here.

About 2 years ago, I discovered the joy of wicking clothes for exercise and outdoor activities. There is such a big difference between a cooton t-shirt and a “performace shirt” that wicks, I can’t wear normal clothing anymore when I’m working out. In fact, my workout gear is so much more comfortable in the summer, I find myself wearing it more and more as everyday wear! It is just so much lighter and cooler, normal clothing feels heavy and sweaty in comparison.

That said, it never occured to me that wicking fabrics could be used for bedding and nightgowns! We try to be environmentally (and budget) friendly around here and keep our AC off as much as possible, but no one can sleep if it is too hot at night. But these Comfynights sheets and PJs would allow us to keep the AC off just a little longer by keeping us cooler than normal sheets and cotton PJs! What a great idea!

What I like is the Long Cami with Shelf Bra. I knew about wicking fabrics and bamboo fabrics from things already on TV and the internet. I even recently found out about yarn that is made with a percentage of corn fibers. It’s nice companies like this are using more of our renewable resources.
