If you haven’t checked today’s health news yet, you may want to take a look at this article from the Washington Post on red meat consumption.  We’ve heard about the dangers of regularly eating red meat many times before, but this very latest study goes into great detail and may just cause Americans and the rest of the meat-eating world to give pause before stopping into a McDonald’s on their lunch break.

For more information on the effects of animal proteins on health, you may want to take a look at one of my favorite health books: The China Study.  You’ll get an in-depth look at how what we eat affects our health.  I also recommend any book by Dr. Joel Fuhrman for learning about healthy eating on a very practical level.

In the meantime, check out the Washington Post article.  I’m sure we’ll be hearing more on this red meat consumption study in the days to come.

  4. This is so interesting! Thank you for the link. I don’t eat much red meat to begin with and when we do eat it at home it is always organic, but I have noticed that the last two times we ate it my digestive system was not really happy. So, I am planning to cut back and not eat it for awhile. Now I think I need to consider avoiding it all together!
