For a long time I had a plastic set of salad tongs in my kitchen. I didn’t like that they were plastic, but I was unable to find a decent replacement. When they broke, I kept using the things. But I’ve finally been able to replace them with something decent: Bambu tongs sent from Free Market Organics. The tongs are made of 100% organic bamboo and will last me a lifetime. I remember when I was growing up, my mother used to buy bamboo utensils from the local Asian food store. Of course, way back then, we had not idea if they were made of organic bamboo, but she bought them because they lasted. She still has them! So I’m always happy to add bamboo cooking utensils to my kitchen.
The best part of the Bambu utensils is the store they come from: Free Market Organics. This is just the type of online store I love to recommend to you because they have a true sense of responsibility to their customers to make sure the products they carry are absolutely safe and chemical free. Take for instance the care they’ve put into choosing which stainless steel water bottles to carry. Amelia at Free Market Organics has been on a dedicated mission to figure out which ones are safer. It’s exactly the kind of nitty-gritty research I like to dig into around here. So whether you’re in the market for organic clothing or cute recycled notecards, Free Market Organics assures you get the very best chemical free solution.
So now you want my salad tongs, huh? Ain’t gonna happen. But I do have an extra one for a dkMommy Spot reader! Read on and learn how to get your own…

I like all the gangly stuffed animals. I think the elephant is my favorite.
Wow, that info on SIGG was *just* what I’ve been looking for. I’m glad I only bought 1 of those versus the 3 Kleen Kanteens we have. My only issue has been differentiating ours from the other kids at school. Permanent markers (yeah, I know, not healthy…) and stickers come off in the wash. I finally figured out a solution! Once my broken elbow heals, I plan on sewing some fabric sleeves for the bottles.

The glass storage containers are so much easier to keep clean and fresh.
i like the glass food storage too, trying to get rid of all the plastics in the house too..its amazing how the plastic containers accumulated
I’ve never seen a teething frog before! But I like the idea. My little girls love playing with and chewing on cloth, so I bet they’d like a teether made of cloth rather than plastic. Great idea
I like the glass food storage containers, too. They would stack so much better in the fridge than the jars I’m using. I also like the clothing, especially the gogo thermal tee.
The information they provide is helpful, and I love how references are included. I learned that cadmium has estrogenic effects – I knew it was an enzyme poison, but I wouldn’t have guessed that it would mimic hormones.
I’m looking forward to some of the “Coming Soon” sections, especially the recipes.
I absolutely LOVE the glass storage containers! They are gorgeous!
Oh, those fair trade finger puppets are adorable.
Oh and I love that they have the stainless steel sippies and water bottles. The 18oz stainless bottle – sport cap is my favorite. I really want to replace all our possibly dangerous water bottles with stainless steel ones.

I’ve been looking for a new salad bowl, and I really like the Bambu 12′ bowl
I love the Glass Food Storage containers!!! I get so worried using plastics all the time…
They live by and promote the “80/20 Rule”. 80% of the time they live green, 20% of the time, they let themselves go, not in the sense that they go out on a conventional binge, but just live in the moment.

I love the glass food storage containers. For three decades I have opted for glass storage containers, dishes, glasses, and mixing bowls. My sense was that they were better for the environment, and better for the health of my family members. Count me in the Free Market Organics Bambu Tongs giveaway.
I love the glass food storage wares. Thanks for sharing this giveaway!

Thanks for the giveaway!
OMGoodness!!! Say WHAT! Ok so no more Siggs here… I can not believe what I read… Bamboo anything is a love of mine and my family.. Even the placemats here are bamboo… Heck even my 5 week old is wearing bamboo/soy clothing… However, I did find the Toys adorable and they remind me of the fingerpuppets we bought when we were in Peru..
Sounds like a great prize.
Thanks for all the excellent contests!

I have to have the long sleeved loretta shirt…. I initially wanted to score the baboo tongs.. still do, but I’m gonna have to break down and get the shirt…. man, your’e killing me… I wanna win a contest and I end up SPENDING money!!!! Although the free tongs WOULD help to offset the price of the shirt!!!!! Thanks bunches… Constance
I really like the glass refrigerator food storage containers with the glass tops. If you are a collector of vintage kitchenware, these look like a version of the ‘fridge storage containers used in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The really great things come back in style – even kitchenware! Thanks for an opportunity to win the Bambu kitchen tongs!
I was really interested in the conversation on sigg water bottles!
