If you’re an avid gardener, to find your personal Garden Shed in a dirty and cluttered condition will make you feel uncomfortable and perhaps drain a bit of your gardening spirit. Treat garden sheds like large closets. Closets are most efficient and functional when they are organized, and so should garden sheds. It only needs a little effort to organize your Garden Shed and when it’s done you will feel rewarded.
A disorganized shed could distract you from doing your everyday gardening chores. Big chance that would be an excuse for you to procrastinate. If you need to make your shed get organized again, perhaps the following Garden Shed Organization Ideas will help you.
For starters, pull everything out. That means EVERY THING inside the garden shed! You might forget that years ago you put many junks inside your cluttered garden shed. Maybe the junks include your old power tools, broken mountain bikes, and unused paint cans. Once all of the things have been taken outside the shed, inspect them carefully. You need to discard everything that doesn’t have a purpose to be there. Or just give away any item you don’t use anymore. Be disciplined!
Next step is to clean your dirty garden shed. After all the things have been moved out and the shed becomes totally empty, clean the place thoroughly. Check the tools you move outside, some of them must be in not-so-good-condition, maybe now it’s perfect time to do annual maintenance. Hey, you can kill two birds with one stone afterall. Some of your garden tools might get rusted and need sanding and rust paint. Wash every thing needs to be washed, scrub every thing needs to be scrubbed, and oil every thing needs to be oiled. Don’t put back any item to your Garden Shed unless it’s already clean and in working condition.
Before you store back any item into the shed, spare some of your time to add hooks and shelves. Trust me, you don’t want to use those three inch nails to hang your gardening tools. Those nails will become ideal spots for spiders to make spider web. Visit the hardware store in your area and buy some proper hooks. The plastic ones are not expensive and quite sturdy. And if you have some spared money, why don’t you buy proper shelving units as well. Good hooks and shelving are worthy investments.
An organized work space is a conducive place to get works done. So a well-organized Garden Shed would help you to get your gardening chores done, and maybe even make you to enjoy those chores.
