Thanks for sharing your recipe, Julie! It sounds great! Please let me know about your hummus recipe. You can email it to me at themommyspot(at)gmail(dot)com. I posted one here before but I'd love to hear your version. I used to make hummus every week, but I haven't in awhile. Guess it's time to make some more. I'm getting hungry for it just typing about it!

Diane, I'm so glad you tried granola- I call it "Old fashioned granola" anywho, I wanted to recommend trying these additions to your granola- I also have a fabulous recipe for Hummus if you're into that! Old Fashioned Granola

6-8 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. wheat germ (found near hot cereals)
1/4 c. sesame seeds
1/4 c. flax seeds
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. coconut (unsweetened)
1 c. canola oil
1 c. honey
1-2 T. vanilla extract
1/2-1 T. almond extract
sprinkle w/ cinnamon

Mix first eight ingredients. Pour on pammed baking sheet, bake at 300 for 30 min or less. Sprinkle extracts and cinnamon and bake 5 more minutes. Store in air tight container. Sprinkle over pancakes, applesauce, or eat by the handful!

Hey Diane! I am a recent reader as well! Love your encouragement to eat healthy. Aaron read the Furman book...and liked what it had to say. we both could stand to eat plenty more fruits and veggies.

can I link your blog to mine?

Jo

Let me tell you Diane, I never used to read blogs. I never even used to read my wife Vivian's(mamaneedjava.com)blog. But now I am so into them. I'm glad she introduced me to your blog. I am the one on the laptop saying " Did you see this great recipe for homemade granola that Diane made?!" Anyway, I think you ladies deserve to go on your annual business trip together! Take care and keep up with this great blog.
