JASCO Organics Mineral Makeup Giveaway

Click here for Natural Beauty Week Giveaways and more!

PhotobucketIf you’ve never tried mineral makeup, then you’re missing out on the most fun you’ll ever have with your cosmetics bag.  I ditched my conventional makeup over a year ago when I first had the opportunity to learn more about mineral makeup.  I’ve been using a brand I was fairly happy with.  Minimal ingredients, good coverage, good colors.  But recently my cosmetics bag got another makeover, and boy, is it beautiful now.  I’m not too bad looking either.

JASCO Organics has a fabulous line of mineral makeup that I’ve been using regularly over the past month.  I’m in love with the coverage, the quality has been great; and the colors?  Oh, the colors, baby! I told JASCO I wasn’t sure what colors I should go with, and they were very helpful. I’m really impressed with the eye-shadows as well, something I haven’t had the greatest of luck with in the past.  The best part of JASCO Organics is what’s NOT in it.  The ingredients are minimal, and you won’t find any lead, parabens, and other “unmentionables” found in almost every makeup at the department store counter.  JASCO is even involved in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

If you’d like to try some JASCO Organics Mineral Makeup for yourself, this may be your lucky day!  JASCO is giving away a $93 set of mineral makeup to one dkMommy Spot reader.  This set includes: 1 Mineral Foundation, 1 Bronzer, 1 Setting Powder, 1 Blush, 1 Eye-Shadow, 1 Kabuki Brush, and 1 Vegan Lipstick.  The winner gets to choose all her own colors too.   Won’t you look smashing, dahling?

I really need to learn about Mineral Makeup, would love to try it, I guess it’s a case of needing to teach an old dog a new trick .. lol

Here’s a tip I’ve learned from JASCO Organics — 5. If you don’t like the feel of powder foundation, have very dry skin or notice powder foundation accumulating in small wrinkles, try mixing a small amount of powder with a small amount of your favorite moisturizer and apply like liquid foundation. Apply finishing powder for a matte look.

  • Molly Capel

I like that all their ingredients are all natural.

  • Debbie D

As I get older (!) I appreciate anything that is more natural, with less chemicals. I love the idea of the Silk Honey Rose Moisturizer.

  • I could really use some of the therapy line! The sea salt bath looks heavenly!

  • Elena L

Bookmarked this and the JASCO sites.Been veg for over 30 years,so this is great.I couldn’t find what the brush was made of tho.Would ruin the idea of humane cosmetics if brush was animal hair.

  • 1. Always cleanse and dry face thoroughly before applying mineral make-up. If you use a moisturizer, allow plenty of time for absorption prior to application of make-up.

This is what I am doing wrong, always in a rush!

SO MANY THINGS TO LOVE!!!! I’ve been wanting to switch over to mineral makeup but the budget won’t allow it yet. Love that they offer body products; love that they tell you how to use it; love that they offer sample KITS; LOVE that they are involved with the SKIN DEEP company–the database through which I have run all of the products in our home over the summer–lots of purging and replacing!! Thanks for the chance to win!

The suggestion to try mixing a small amount of powder with a small amount of your favorite moisturizer and apply like liquid foundation is a great one. I never thought of that.

  • Kathleen

I was reading about the makeup, specifically the vegan lipstick, and saw that lead has been found in lipsticks. I didn’t know that, eek!

  • A C

I have never had the pleasure of trying any mineral makeup brand so nothing to compare this to, but I did learn a tip on this site that I know I will always remember once I do start using mineral makeup:

    5. If you don’t like the feel of powder foundation, have very dry skin or notice powder foundation accumulating in small wrinkles, try mixing a small amount of powder with a small amount of your favorite moisturizer and apply like liquid foundation. Apply finishing powder for a matte look

    Thanks, I learned something I didn’t know! ;-)

  • Heather C

I’d love to try the JASCO Organics ‘Sunkissed Complexion’ Bronzer.

  • Elizabeth M.

This is probably going to seem ridiculous but I was shocked when I read this. Apply your mineral make-up in the following order: foundation, bronzer, setting powder, eye shadow and blush. I have never in my life put my blush on last. What the heck? I do my eyes last and lips. That is amazing to me for some reason. You’re probably just thinking, whatever, she’s weird.

  • Elizabeth M.

    I’m a subscriber too.

  • Christine

I like the step by step instructions so I won;t get overwhelmed. thanks!

  • I use Bare Minerals and have for years. I love using natural mineral make-up. However! I wuold love to find something comparable that is more affordable, and it seems like JASCO Organics fit the bill.
