If you’re looking for all that makes a little boy’s eyes light up on Christmas morning, this Wooden Fire Engine made by Plan Toys will more than make those eyes sparkle.  Brought to us today by LivingPlaying, a fantastic online store focused on toys for creative play, this fire engine has been amusing my little boy for a few months already.  The day it arrived was something like an autumn Christmas morning!  You should have seen my son’s reaction to that big truck being pulled from the box.  (If you’ve never purchased a natural toy, you’re in for an easy out-of-the-box experience, moms and dads!  No loads of plastic twisties making your neck veins bulge.)  My son is 2 1/2, and for him, finding entertaining toys is a bit of a challenge.  He seems to lose interest a little too quickly for my taste.  But this Wooden Fire Engine keeps him entertained, and it’s definitely interactive!

When my husband arrived home the evening we received our Wooden Fire Engine from LivingPlaying, we were all three sitting around the floor for quite sometime, making noises, walking the little firemen around, rolling the truck and playing with the accessories.  It’s probably the most well-built toy my little guy owns, if not the most impressive looking.  If your kids find one of these Christmas morning, I daresay this fire engine will withstand several years of putting out imaginary fires and saving kittens from trees.  It may even light up the eyes of your kids’ kids someday!

  1. What a great selection of toys, and I love the fact that you mentioned the toys come packaged without all of the annoying plastic and twist-ties! I thought my boys would love the Build and Erupt Volcano and the Physics Workshop Kit. They look like they would be fun but also very educational….and that’s a perfect mix to me! Thank you for offering this great giveaway. rhonda (at) acedesignstudio (dot) com

  2. My 2 year old son would LOVE this fire engine. I visited the site and looked at the wooden puzzles which is something he is very into right now. I like the wooden octopus puzzle best since it will allow him to count. Once again, that is one thing he can’t stop doing either, counting! Thanks!

  3. There are so many wonderful toys but I think my four year old grandson would go nuts this fire engine and the wooden marble tower shown on the website. Wish me luck!

  4. I’m back for an extra entry while I still can. I absolutely love the quality of Plan Toys. My son has actually been complaining that his really annoying electronic fire truck has broken wheels so a new one is on his holiday list (and I’m really happy to throw out the annoying one he has). I love that this fire truck has soft accents (all the red parts), so that it’s easy to get the driver in and doesn’t hurt when it crashes into my babies forheads, which happen to collide a little too often. This is a toy that I know will stand up to my five year old’s abuse and still be around when my now 10 month old is ready for it.

  5. Honeybake Wooden Baking Set — my kindergartener would love this as a complement to his wooden play kitchen. He’s been asking for a play mixer and he loves to mix up sweet treats.
