L’Occitane Skincare Giveaway
L’Occitane En Provence is not your average beauty product company. That’s because not only are their products natural and made with organic ingredients, they give you the full story about where each of these ingredients comes from. For instance, the Ultra Comforting skincare products, what we’re giving away here, are made with organic shea butter harvested just for L’Occitane in Burkina Faso. Women’s collectives gather and prepare the shea butter, while L’Occitane sees to it the women receive fair pricing and even child care. L’Occitane provides the true story behind all their products, including video, so customers can see for themselves the processes involved. (See this video on harvesting of shea butter.)
L’Occitane is offering one lucky dkMommy Spot reader $98 worth of their Ultra Comforting line! Included in this set is one Ultra Comforting Cleansing Milk ($22 retail), one Ultra Comforting Serum ($38 retail), and one Ultra Comforting Cream ($38 retail). The Ultra Comforting line is perfect for normal to sensitive skin and has minimal ingredients, no perfumes, colorants, alcohols, or preservatives.
3 Ways to Enter:
1.) Leave a comment after visiting the L’Occitane site. Tell me about a product there that interests you, or you can tell me something you like about the site in general. (Winners are chosen at random, but if the first winner selected does not claim the prize, the second winner is chosen based on comment originality. So have fun with your comment!)
2.) Subscribers are automatically entered into this and all future giveaways. Just click here: Subscribe to dkMommy Spot by Email (Please make sure to verify your Feedburner subscription by responding to the email they send you. If you don’t receive it, check your junk mail.)

I absolutely love the A-Z listing of ingredients! They have a drawing of the particular plant species, a little traditon, its properties and the uses. If you see a product on their site with an ingredient like Angelica you can look it up and find out some interesting facts. I found this under the listing:
Legend has it that the Archangel Raphael brought an angelica root to Charlemagne, emperor of the Occident, to save his army which was ill with the plague. It was also thanks to angelica powder that Paracelsus, a doctor of the Renaissance, succeeded in stemming the major plague epidemics of 1510.
Sounds like pretty powerful stuff!
This is a very nice option to have right there on the site.

Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap - Verbena 8.8 oz
$10.00
I didn’t have far too look. Know how I met this soap? A friend stayed in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and brought me back the little room gifties. I have been addicted to Occitanes Verbena shea butter soap ever since. Of course, the hotel only gave little bars, and I love the huge 8.8 oz ones that last for MONTHS. Hey, I have a dinky apartment with a shower in the kitchen, but when I use my fancy soap, the one that every visiting movie star uses at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, I have five minutes of glamor in the water.

L’Occitane is one of my favorite indulgences! It’s as if you’re sitting there reading my mind.
I have not tired near enough of their stuff to be content yet, but I am fully in love with their body lotions already. I also love that they have eco-friendly refills!
Right now my temptation lies with the revitalizing shower gel. With my daughter home for the summer, I need a really good wake-me-up in the morning–and coffee just isn’t cutting it anymore! I have to put her to bed just so *I* can go to bed.

I recently made the mistake of looking at my face in one of those super-mega magnifying make-up mirrors - really not a good thing for any woman over the age of 18 to do, much less for a woman of 38.
So now that I know my face has 14 gazillion little lines all over my cheeks and forehead, I think I need to try out the Almond and Apple line of products to combat these first signs of aging.

Hi there! You always offering the greatest skincare giveaways! I have learned about so many skincare lines through your blog and website and now today I have learned about L’Occitane Products. This past week I have been desperate to start exfoliating my skin, now that the warm weather is here and more of it is showing! So from L’Occitane the product that sounds the most desirable to me is the Almond Apple Sweet Peel. I love the idea that is uses crushed almond shells for the gentle exfoliation and apples from Provence to work on smoothening the skin! My skin does tend to be very sensitive so I really can only use products with natural ingredients on my skin. That is why this giveaway is so very appealing to me! They are products I can truly use on a daily basis!

June 19th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Almond delightful shape sounds like something I really need for the summer. Though the name threw me off, it is a cellulite reducing cream. No, it doesn’t magically remove your bumpy, dimpled skin, but it does help the “appearance” for a few hours. Which is fine by me. Let me wear it with some sky high heels, a mini skirt and turn some heads, then after midnight when I turn back into a pumpkin, it can stop working for all I care. As long as it does it’s job for just a few hours

June 19th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
I like the looks of the anti-aging skincare line and the fact that they have a version for sensitive skin. I have pale, sensitive skin that reacts to fragrance and so many things. I can’t use Clinique, for example. I don’t break out in zits; I break out in blotches, more like an allergic reaction. I would like to give their line a try and see how it goes for me. Everything they make looks like yummy, natural stuff.
