“Mashala Baby Organics” Complete Infant Massage Kit Giveaway

PhotobucketWhether you have a baby, are expecting one soon, or know someone who is, Mashala Baby Organics has the perfect gift for you.  I’ve been checking out their Organic Tradition Complete Infant Massage Set.  Massage is an ancient form of baby relaxation and health that moms all over the world have been relying on for as long as they’ve had babies!  Baby massage is used to soothe the newborn, relieve colic, heal dry skin on babies of any age, help babies sleep, or clear a stuffy nose or chest.  The benefits are endless, but the biggest benefit is the bond that is built between mother and child as they spend a few quiet moments together.

Mashala Baby Organics is an impressive Canadian company that has quite a story behind it.  It’s the merging of two sides of a family, both putting an importance on natural care for generations.  The recipes, passed down from great grandmother to grandmother to mother to daughter, are the backbone of Mashala Baby Organics.  Equally impressive are their all-natural organic products, which feature ingredients such as olive oil, holy basil (a favorite from my Old World roots as well), and chamomile.

The Organic Tradition Complete Infant Massage Set is certainly complete!  It includes a 100% organic cotton infant massage pad, a muslin bag filled with four different massage oils, a special sign for baby’s bedroom door to let people know “Shhh! Baby Massage in Progress”, and a beautiful wooden bucket to store the massage oils in.  I love the oils - they’re not strongly scented, which is very important for a small baby.  Even the Gentle Vapor oil is mild; just enough for baby.  This set is a $55 value, and I guarantee any mother who receives this one will be very pleased with it.  It comes with full instructions on how to do an infant massage too, so mom isn’t left wondering how it all works.

MASHALA BABY ORGANICS™ got its name from the congratulatory blessing -”Mashala!”- exclaimed (with a spit) in her Greek Macedonian tradition by grandparents and elders upon the birth of a child and to express satisfaction with a child’s growth and acheivements. In fact, this exact blessing is used widely throughout areas and across cultures where ancient civilizations once flourished.

I really like that they focus on just one thing–baby massage. A lot of companies have their hands in everything but don’t do one of those things really well. This massage set is wonderful. What a great gift for new parents. And honestly, $55 is not that much for all of the stuff that comes with the set (plus that 40% off coupon…wow!).

I really like that they are adding appropriate mood music to their store. It goes well with the theme They should add a few book suggestions too, even if they are just linked into Amazon. I’d love to try the Calm and Comfort oil. Thanks for sharing this find.

I think this is such a great company! I always worry what I’m putting on him and strive to make his world as organic as possible, I also like that they are nut free - I like to keep his exposure to possible allergenics to a minimum until he is much older. I learned “that massage nurtures babies’ psychological, physiological, and developmental growth. It fosters healthy self-esteem and increases bonding between parents and their babies. It helps to calm baby and ease muscle pain or pain caused by teething. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to focus your undivided nurturing attention on your baby and show him/her how loved they are.” I found that interesting because I always thought that massages felt good and all but had no idea that they helped with babies’ growth and development. Thanks for the giveaway!

NO artificial dyes, preservatives, no nut oils - everything we put on our skin gets absorbed by us into our blood stream. Thats the principles behind aromatherapy massage. - All natural and organic is the best way to go with babies.

Even top brand gentle baby products are loaded with sodium laurel sulfate. - whats good for a baby about chemicals? - the environment we live in is toxic enough.
