When I was a kid, I remember some of the paintings on the walls of our family home. They were precious belongings to my parents, remembrances of travel and exotic places, and we weren’t allowed to touch them. But there was something magical about all those thick layers of paint creating trees and lakes, and I wanted to touch them; if I could only reach….
Mia Canvas is a company that creates touchable art for your kids. The interactive paintings are brightly colored canvases that are also magnetic. Children can add to the painting by moving around the coordinating magnets, or by adding their own magnets. We’ve been playing with a Mia Canvas painting of a cow in a field. Ladybugs and leaves can be rearranged, and my son is able to add a few magnets of his own, sometimes attaching bits of his own artwork.
Mia Canvas is giving away one Magnetic Interactive Painting ($59.95 retail) to a dkMommy Spot reader! Here’s your chance to give artwork to your child that can actually be touched!

Entry for today: Moms are the best “inventors” for children’s items. The MIA Canvas was started by a mom who was disappointed by the flat two-dimensional art work she found in stores and boutiques. Being an artist herself, she felt that artwork for the nursery should be made for touching and playing, in addition to seeing! And this was the result. I think this art is absolutely wonderful!
A nice learning tool

I like The Family Tree in Blue because you can personalize them and make them your own

?Quoting from the website: “Nursery décor is about surrounding your children with all of the colorful and cozy things in life. These visions should provide stimulation, comfort, and delight. This is the space where some of their most important milestones will happen. “ This really means we should make sure that we fill the child’s world with color and wonderful things we wanthim/her to see. This really focuses in on the role of surroundings in a young child’s life. These
people are passionate about the art, etc. In addition to that, I am passionate about books in the child’s life….a good reader is usually one who has had books in his life since he/she was a baby.Combine these two passions and you will have a child with a really good start in life.
I love the starry skies items for I would love to do her room in that theme
