I saw a restaurant that taped a ziplock bag full of water to each door. They said it kept the flies out. They didn't know why, it just worked. I was thinking the light reflecting in the water messed with all the fly eyes. I haven't tried it because I don't have that much of a problem with flies to look like a nut to my neighbors.

I like the basil spray idea, might be better for the one or two flies that get in the house.

For most people, this means cracking out a can of Raid or slathering smelly bug repellents on their children. But you’re trying to live chemical free. So what do you do? … [...]

Never would I have ever thought of using Vodka! The only one that uses any type of insect repellent in our household is the dog. I don't think she'd take kindly to being doused with Vodka (big giggle). However, I do use a diluted solution of Avon Skin-So-Soft & water. I did email this information to my sisters & brothers. Yet, any Vodka may end up in their tummy's as well as on their skin.

You constantly amaze me by the amount of valuable information you put out to all of us, your readers. Thank you so very much.
