When I do my clothes shopping, I like to get natural fabrics. Perhaps I still have some preconceived notion of polyester, envisioning my grandmother’s flower printed house dresses, but I also don’t really enjoy the idea of dressing myself in plastic. Besides, I’ve discovered a great money saving secret over the years: Real fabric lasts longer. I often look at the more pricey purchases as investments. I buy a really nice black wool skirt once, and I don’t have to get another for years. Of course that takes some practice, and it means the expensive wool skirt can’t be in a trendy cut if I plan on wearing it for more than a season or two. Another trick is getting accessories that can alter an outfit and make it go further. Nimli, an online store specializing in natural, organic and green lifestyle items, sells a beautiful silk and pashmina shawl that makes for a perfect accessory you can easily count on as a permanent part of your wardrobe.
Nimli has a wide variety of shawls, scarves and wraps to choose from, all made by Azuri. The color selection is endless. I have a natural off-white shawl, and the fringe adds a really nice touch. The fabric is smooth and flowing, and adding this to an outfit will definitely take your look up a notch! I’ve played around with adding this shawl to my wardrobe, and it’s going to be a great addition for fall when I need a little extra warmth without having to resort to my “mom” jacket thrown over a nice dress.
Nimli is giving away a Reversible Ombre Pashmina Shawl to one dkMommy Spot reader, originally priced at $170. If you don’t win, don’t despair – you can buy one on sale for only $54, a great deal if you want to add an accessory that will indeed be with you for years to come. But if you are the winner, you’ll get this shawl shown in the color in the photo above: Two shades of coral, allowing you to reverse the shawl and change up your look.
Let’s wrap this up, shall we? (Sorry, I can’t resist an obvious pun.)
