Insects are incredibe creatures as they are very adaptable and can thrive in many types of environments, like deserts, tundra, and even the Antarctic. Insects have bad reputation amongst humans but they are actually very useful both to humans and environments. They pollinates our crops and plants in forests, deserts, meadows and other areas. They’re vital to the cycle of life as they provide food for other animals and dissolve natural materials into nutrients and chemicals which are recycled into new life. They’re the largest animal group on earth as there are more than one million different species of insects.
A wise gardener always use sustainable gardening method that will not harm the local environment. When it comes to controlling and eliminating destructive garden insects, a wise gardener choose to use organic non-toxic pest control method to protect his plants. It is the best choice to go totally organic as it gives less harm to the local environment but still allow the garden to become beautiful.
Some species of ants also able to protect their host plants. When a species of ants that lives on acacia trees smell a mammal, they become alert and ready to give sting to animals that want to eat the leaves. As social creatures, ants live in colonies. The ant colonies range from small (only contain about 50 individuals) to super big (Formica yessensis colony on Japan is said to have more than 1,000,000 queens). Ant nests are filled with mazes of tunnels and rooms to store food, lay eggs and raise the young.It is estimated that ants cover 10% of the world’s animal biomass. They are essential to breakdown organic matter. Without ants, the world would have covered with dead animals and plants.
Using simple precautions, you can lower the possibilities of insects attacking your garden. Always take care your plants, don't wait until they sufffered from ants invasion.
Good or Bad Ants And Bugs?
Not all of insects are pests, many of them are useful to humans as they produce wax, silk, honey, and other products. Chemical insecticides will kill not only bad insects; but the helpful insects as well. Should you get rid of garden ants and bugs in your garden, do it safely and organically without adding more chemical toxins into the environment.
