Oh, joy!  Another beautiful set of Scholastic DVD’s has landed in our house, and my son is almost as excited about it as I am.  Not long ago, I posted a review and giveaway of a Scholastic Storybook Collection of DVD’s that I found most impressive.  This new one called “Dinosaurs Trucks & More Scholastic Treasury” is every bit as fun and educational as the last set.  As the stories are narrated, the words appear on the bottom of the screen so even the youngest of children can start grasping the concept of words having meaning.

Some of the stories are newer ones, things that perhaps your older children have seen at the school library.  But others will be familiar to you, such as The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary.  One of my favorite childhood books, I distinctly remember hiding a copy in my third-grade desk so I could sneak a few sentences during the dreaded math lesson.  Scholastic has the guilt free version for me here, in a darling live action film with the cutest of motorcycle riding mice ever to grace the screen.  Other stories, such as Pete’s a Pizza, How do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight, and I Stink (a story about a garbage truck) will have children and even their parents watching with rapt attention as even a few well-known actors, such as Chevy Chase and Anthony Edwards, do the narrating.

I’ve mentioned many times that we’re not ones to watch much television.  I’m quite selective about what my son does watch, so when something fun and educational like this comes along, I’m only too happy to share it with you.  Kindly, the people of Scholastic are happy to share with you also!  They’re giving away one Dinosaurs Trucks & More Scholastic Treasury set which includes 4 DVD’s (25 stories total) for your kids to learn from and enjoy.  Ready to enter?  Great!
