Seventh Generation Living Home Starter Kit Giveaway!

Posted by Diane under: Cleaning; Contest; Product Review .

I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. Seventh Generation has offered to give one of my readers this Living Home Starter Kit (a $44.99 value!) filled with their safe, natural cleaning products. These are not wimpy sample size bottles - they’re a great grouping of full-size products. This kit will keep your house naturally clean for a long, long time!

You know what a stickler I am about avoiding chemicals in the home. I’ve been using Seventh Generation dish soap and dishwasher soap for quite awhile, so I know I’ve got something good to share with you. I’ve tried several different natural dish cleaners, and Seventh Generation was the only brand I found that works well. In fact, I think it works better than the chemical-filled ones.

Here is what the Living Home Starter Kit includes:

Ruby Grapefruit & Herb Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner
Green Mandarin & Leaf All-Purpose Cleaner
Emerald Cypress & Fir All-Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Natural Citrus Scent Shower Cleaner
Emerald Cypress & Fir Tub & Tile Cleaner
Two Rolls of Natural Paper Towels
…and a Seventh Generation Tote to haul all your new stuff!

3 Ways to Enter:

1.) Leave a comment telling me whether or not you’ve used Seventh Generation, and if you have, what product do you like? If you haven’t, which one interests you most?

2.) Subscribers are automatically entered into this and all future giveaways. Just click on the “Subscribe to dkMommy Spot by Email” button on the upper corner of the right hand column. (Please make sure to verify your Feedburner subscription by responding to the email they send you. If you don’t receive it, check your junk mail.)

3.) Blog about this giveaway on your blog with a link back.

Do all three, and you’ve got three entries to win! I’ll draw a winner at midnight on Monday, May 5, 2008.

Special Announcement: You’ll be seeing more great giveaways and reviews coming to dkMommy Spot. I’m committed to reviewing and giving away only the safest, most natural products. If I wouldn’t use it in my house, you won’t find it here!

I’ve never used Seventh Generation products, but the one that interests me the most is the
Ruby Grapefruit & Herb Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner. It sounds like it would have a very pleasant aroma.

I haven’t used it, but I wonder if this stuff doesn’t have the STRONG smell a lot of cleaners do?

Although I haven’t used it , I am very interested in anything that would be better to use around my kids.

Hey Brandy,

I’ve never had a problem with the smells. They’re much more mild, and they even have unscented products too. It really smells like - well, like nothing! Even the scented are just the smells of the essential oils. My husband is really, really sensitive to any weird, chemically smell but he has no problem with these.

Lori Says:

29 April 2008 at 11:52 am.

I’ve used the paper products before, but not the cleaners. I am most interested in trying the all purpose cleaner.

I’m trying to go green a little at a time. I used to use Seventh Generation a few years ago. I used the paper products. Since then I have fallen off the wagon. This would be a nice boost to get me started again.

Marlene Says:

I have never tried Seventh Generation Products because, but I have been reading a lot about more earth friendly products. I haven’t purchased any yet because many of the products cost more initially because they lost longer. Yet, I am not sure which ones are effective and I don’t want to waste money buying ones which don’t work. Of course I am interested in the citrus scents like the grapefruit and the mandarin ckeaners.

I feel so guilty using not-so-good-for-the-environment cleaners. This would give me a fresh, new start!

I am partnered to a wonderful woman.

A woman, however, who is in love with chemicals, because they “get rid of ikky germs.”

I am from Oregon, and was raised to be more environmentally mindful. She was raised in LA.

We currently use 7th Gen Diapers on our daughter, and use 7th Gen wipes, but I REALLY want to prove to her that 7th Gen cleaners are as good as the “other guys.”

Seriously.

Katie Says:

29 April 2008 at 4:16 pm.

I’ve never tried 7th generation, but always think about it when I see it at the store. I’d like a good, safe, green all purpose cleaner, so that’s the one I am most interested in.

I love Seventh Generation. My favorite products are their diapers and wipes. We usually use cloth diapers, but have these disposables as back up. They work just as well as other non-natural, bleached, cartoon laden ones- if not better. We also like their all-purpose cleanser. I’d love to try a wider variety of their products.

I am becoming more and more of a fan of Seventh Generation. We started using their diapers and baby products when we had our baby girl this past January. I just picked up one of their spray cleaners (forgettiing which one) the other day and have been pleased with it. I wasn’t sure how well it actually would clean — but it does a great job and I feel so much better about cleaning with a small baby in the house knowing I am not exposing her environment to harsh, harmful chemicals!

I have not used 7th Generation products - I’ve been using Method - but I’d love to try them. I’d be most interested in the Emerald Cyprus and Fir tub and tile cleaner. This is the one area I still use a chemical cleaner, because I haven’t found anything else that works as well - and with a family of 6 showering and 4 kids who don’t do a great job of wiping down the shower afterwards, we get a lot of hard water and soap scum build up. Wow, that is way more than you wanted to know, huh? LOL!

Thanks for the giveaway!

I haven’t used their cleaners before. I’m most interested in the toilet bowl cleaner. We have hard water which leaves a rust stain in our bowl so that is the main reason I haven’t switched to a natural toilet bowl cleaner.

With the rising prices of diapers (atleast in my neck of the woods), I am able to diaper my son in something natural and safe, for the smae price as grocery store brands. I have been wanting to try their cleaning/household products, to see if they are just as amazing (I have no doubt they are!). Thanks for the chance to win! Thanks again.

But, really, I’m interested in all of them. I need to make a lot of changes in my home and am a bit overwhelmed with all of the options and what I need to do, so it’s hard to face it sometimes.

I haven’t tried it yet and I think it’s mostly out of fear that it doesn’t work as well yet costs more. This would be a great way to prove myself wrong. The one I’d like to try most is the glass and surface cleaner and it’s because of the grapefruit scent. I am addicted to that scent.
