When I was a kid I had an ant farm. It was filled with sand, and I had to order the ants. They arrived in a tube, and I remember how fascinating it was to watch them interact; how they shook antennae as they passed in congenial greeting, how they tunneled and worked as a team. But my ants weren’t very space age savvy. They didn’t know about NASA or going to space, and they didn’t live in a gel that would support their lives if they so chose to take up the mission, pack their little ant trunks, and head out into the final frontier.
The ants sitting on our bookshelf today are ready for anything, including a trip into outerspace. Space Ants by Fascinations is a unique ant farm that combines learning about the underground world of ants with some space age technology. The ants in the Space Ants farm live in a gel that contains all the nutrition and building material they’ll need to live out their tunnel-digging lives in well-fed bliss. Parents can teach their kids about teamwork, nature, and technology all with the Space Ants as a great learning tool! And I gotta say it looks pretty cool on a bookshelf…

The World Alive Butterfly kit sounds cool too. I always wanted an ant farm and really just forgot about them. I want to win it for myself as much as my kids.
I learned that Fascinations® Toys and Gifts manufactures imaginative toys and gifts for children and adults. My kids are fascinated by bugs and would love this ant farm.
I run a daycare and so I sat down with the kids to peruse the site. They loved all of the items! They were intrigued by the bug catchers. One of the little ones that I watch has been into catching ants lately in our little bug catcher. I know she would love to have an ant farm. Their absolute favorite thing ast Fascinations was the undersea volcano. They thought that was so neat.

I especially like the Anti-gravity Globe. What a neat gift idea for a budding scientist, a kid with lots of curiosity, or anyone who is just “a kid at heart”! It would be a great conversation starter on a desk or living room table!

Growing your own fish would be fun even for “big” kids. Killfish imagine that!

This is really hard to pick something else, everything on the site is really cool. I am having a hard time deciding between time squared, the magic fishbowl, and the exotic jungle.
They have a “spider catcher” so you can catch creepy crawlies in your house to dispose of them outside. Now that is what I need!! We often have a tug a war in our house about who will catch the spider and the girls want it put outside alive and the boys want to SMASH IT TO SMITHEREENS. ewwww. I dont want them SMASHED, I just want them GONE!!
My family would luv space ants.
