Picture 1Looking for something unique for your kids this Christmas?  Something that requires both mental and physical effort, something you’ll be tempted to try yourself?  Challenge & Fun’s Labyrinth Balance Board could be just what you’re looking for.  This wooden toy is a great way to give your kids some fun active play.  Standing on the balance board isn’t as easy as it looks, especially when you’ve got my “grace and coordination”!  But it is fun and gives the legs a real workout.  By adding a maze carved into the board’s hardwood top, kids can try and move marbles through the pattern by tipping the board this way and that – but all without losing their balance!  Pretty tricky, I can assure you.

I like toys like this because they’re not the average toss-aside plastic gadget that’s invariably forgotten somewhere around January 3rd.  No, this is one of those things no one else got under the tree; it wasn’t advertised every two minutes during cartoons, and since it’s solid wood, it won’t fall apart either.  A darned good list of qualities if you ask me.  So enter to win your own – or buy one from Challenge & Fun.  Then again, maybe you’d better order two.  The whole family will be lining up to give this one a try.

I’ve been searching for companies that I can comfortably recommend to my readers, and when it comes to toys, that means the best and safest I can find. (And let’s not forget fun!) I’ve recently discovered KangarooBoo, and I’m very happy to be able to share them with you.

Owned by Jennic and Justin Law, this entrepreneurial couple is above the mark in my book! Ten weeks after their wedding, Jennic was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma). She was 24.
