No secret here, I’m in love with coffee. For me, nothing makes a busier morning easier to face than rolling out of bed thinking, “Oh good, there’s coffee.” Lately I’ve been waking up to the newest brew at Peet’s Coffee, Uzuri African Blend, which is available for purchase starting today, March 3rd. Having been a longtime fan of African coffees, I’ve found this blend to be another fine java to add to the list. The beans are dark and oily, just how I like then, and the flavor is bold without the bitter, perfect for those who enjoy coffee that doesn’t bite back. And in a cappuccino, it shows itself off nicely.
But Peet’s has more going for them than just fresh roasted beans and quality coffee. They’re all about fair trade. You see, in East Africa, coffee’s birthplace, most coffee farmers earn less than $2 a day! But Peet’s pays fair wages and collaborates with a nonprofit organization called TechnoServe, which not only assures fair wages and treatment of the farmers, but also provides them with training, giving them a better quality of life.
If your enticed to try Peet’s Uzuri African Blend, how about this? Peet’s Coffee is giving away 12-ounce bags ($13.95 each) of their freshly roasted beans to FIVE dkM readers!
