The Grand Opening Herbal Giveaway!
Alright, this isn’t the gift. I’m not a very talented wrapper. But I did do a little shopping for one very lucky mommy to help celebrate dkMommy Spot’s new domain. (”Domain” - it sounds so powerful, don’t you think?)
Today’s giveaway is full of herbal goodness. I have here a lavender sachet, a wonderful smelling bar of sage soap made in France, four herb seed packets to help you get a jump on spring (lavender, hyssop, peppermint, and lemon balm), and a little something for the kiddies too - Night Night Balm from W.S. Badger Co. Although I’ve never used the Night Night Balm, it was calling to me off the store shelf. It’s made with organic essential oils to help your little one fall asleep. I am so tempted to open it and smell - but I won’t. I’ll leave that bit of fun for the winner. Besides, if it works, I really can’t afford to fall asleep right now. After Vivian at mama need java spilled water on her laptop, the fear of drooling on my keyboard worries me a little.
To enter, please leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite herb is. The most popular herb answer will give me inspiration for an up-and-coming blog post. Link back to this contest on your blog, and get an extra entry! The winner will be chosen on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008, at 12:00pm EST and notified by email.
(Pssst! My other blog, carp(e) libris, is having a giveaway too!)

My favorite herb of all time is Nettle leaf. It has so many health benefits! I enjoy that it’s great for my hair, skin, and nails as it contains silica. It’s also a great way to flush excess fluid from the body and is rich in vitamins A, C, and E. I can’t say enough fabulous things about it! I drink it as a loose leaf tea. I’ve also used it in a hair loss remedy on my head! Hope this helps!
By the way, I followed over from Opal Tribble’s blog: Vegan Momma - which I had visited after first visiting her writing blog: Addicted to Writing.

Marjoram. I know that probably sounds strange, but I love the scent and have used it both body oils and in lotions. It has such an earthy scent but not quite as strong as patchouli which I also like.
February 22nd, 2008 at 6:09 pm
My favorite is lavender. I ordered some Lavender Body Lotion BooMama had talked about. It came from Hummingbird Farms at http://www.hummingbirdlavender.com and it is simply wonderful. I was surprised to discover my original idea of what lavender smelled like was not your typical off-the-shelf smell. It’s wonderful for those rough feet and elbows. And the Dead Sea Salt they have is wonderful too. If I win, you can contact me at dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com

I think I’m going to have to agree with the majority and say lavendar. Love the scent, and it’s great fresh from the outdoors in little bouquets, or dried in satchets or potpourri
But for cooking, I’d say rosemary. Lavendar wins for my all-time favorite though
