Alright, this isn’t the gift. I’m not a very talented wrapper. But I did do a little shopping for one very lucky mommy to help celebrate dkMommy Spot’s new domain. (“Domain” – it sounds so powerful, don’t you think?)

Today’s giveaway is full of herbal goodness. I have here a lavender sachet, a wonderful smelling bar of sage soap made in France, four herb seed packets to help you get a jump on spring (lavender, hyssop, peppermint, and lemon balm), and a little something for the kiddies too – Night Night Balm from W.S. Badger Co. Although I’ve never used the Night Night Balm, it was calling to me off the store shelf. It’s made with organic essential oils to help your little one fall asleep. I am so tempted to open it and smell – but I won’t. I’ll leave that bit of fun for the winner. Besides, if it works, I really can’t afford to fall asleep right now. After Vivian at mama need java spilled water on her laptop, the fear of drooling on my keyboard worries me a little.

To enter, please leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite herb is. The most popular herb answer will give me inspiration for an up-and-coming blog post. Link back to this contest on your blog, and get an extra entry! The winner will be chosen on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008, at 12:00pm EST and notified by email.

  1. It would have to be rosemary, like pine but sweeter. Like flowers but with a punch. Clean, spicy, with shifting overtones. mmmmmm

  2. When I was a little girl, we had a huge lavendar bush in the back yard! I loved sitting by it in the warm sun and breathing it all in.

after all that, I’d say basil lol :-)

  3. Lavender is my all time favourite and in the summer I cut bunches of it and tie them together to ekep for the winter months. Also make the heat things with rice and the lavender for when anyone has an ache…put it in the microwave…ahhh. Please enter me in your contest.

  4. i don’t know if this an herb but does green tea count? i love it so much. i use perfume that smells like green tea. I like the clean smell of it.

  5. I love all herbs! Lavender, Rosemary, Patchouli (old hippy smell LOL ya either love it or hate it…no in between).

A culinary herb I love is Salad Burnet. It is not as well known as many others, but it’s great when ya love the taste of cucumber but not the burp…and the periwinkle Borage flowers tossed in with fresh canteloupe…so beautiful.

Then there are fennel fronds and umbels…water the butterflies and steam/poach your fish with this useful plant.

  6. Oh…how perfect! I was at Bath & Body Works yesterday (yes…Di at a mall on a Saturday…unbelievable!!!) and got an aromatherapy eye mask you can heat up in the microwave. Perfect for those Spring sinus headaches! Your giveaway will go nicely!
