When it comes to all-natural skin care, hair care, makeup, and fragrances, everything I stand for here is all wrapped up in this amazing new book by Julie Gabriel:  The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skin Care, Hair Care, Makeup, and Fragrances.  If you’re looking for just one book for your shelf as a reference for helping you decide which beauty products are safe to use and how to make your own too, Gabriel has put it all together in a very easy-to-understand guide.  The book begins with several chapters on understanding what’s in great skin care and beauty products, giving you the good, the bad, and the ugly so you can shop knowledgeably.  Want to make your own?  Gabriel has provided page after page of homemade beauty regimens, recipes, tips and tricks to get your skin and hair looking their best.  She includes recipes for lotions, toners, homemade fragrances, deodorants and more.

Any woman interested in an all-natural lifestyle but doesn’t want to give up all her beloved beauty products will find much relief and camaraderie by hooking up with Julie Gabriel’s organic approach.  She’s long been involved in the fashion industry as an associate editor for Harper’s Bazaar’s Eastern European editions, beauty editor for Atmospheres, and has written over 500 articles on beauty, fashion, and lifestyle.  As a registered nutrition specialist, she knows her stuff.  She certainly proves that you don’t have to stop wearing makeup and dress in a flour sack to be a true natural goddess!

Want to win a copy of The Green Beauty Guide?  Here’s your chance, and just in time to whip up some homemade products for the natural beauties you’ll have on your Christmas list this year.  I’m truly excited to be sharing this book with you.  It’s so very dkMommy.

  1. i would love for all of my products to be natural. However to break it down some I would love to use an all natural foundation and a good all natural moisterizer

  2. I would love an alternative to my Cover Girl foundation. It’s the first layer on my skin every day and it’s on there for so many hours that just thinking about it, I’ve realized that I seriously need to make sure that what I’m using is healthy for me.

  3. I go through my facial and eye moisture creams far more quickly than I’d like and, as I’m often traveling, it can be tricky to replenish them. A DIY method would be fabulous!

  4. I would love to replace my face lotion. also I buy cheap shampoo that leaves my hair dry and cracked. I would love replace my products with some green ones. Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. I have realy REALLY dry skin. I put aveno sunscreen first on then I moisturize in the morning with Mary Kay moisturizer. I have super sensitive skin too I need to be careful that I don’t break out or flare up from the moisturizer. Then if my skin gets flake-y through out the day (which it usually does) I use my hand cream that I have at my desk.

It’s very difficult for me to find good moisture that lasts the day without spending a silly amount of money. I welcome suggestions.

  6. Right now I’m doing all right, though I’d love to find a safe deodorant/antipersperant that actually works-though I’m not sure that is possible.

  7. my hands are impossible this time of year and i cannot find an over the counter hand moisturizer that will work

  8. I currently use Oil of Olay products, not really happy with them, but most other things on the market cost even more and money is tight. Would love to find a green alternative
that wouldn’t bust the bank, don’t expect miracles, just basic clean and moisturize.

  9. I would like to replace my cleanser and moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin and it’s hard to find anything that doesn’t cause a bad reaction on my skin.

  10. I’d love to find a natural acne fighter. I’ve tried a diluted Apple Cider Vinegar cleanser but it’s just a bit too harsh even for my oily skin. I’d love to learn how to make beauty masks, moisturizers, even make-up removers from natural things in my kitchen!

  11. I’m very open to natural things, so I don’t have anything I could NOT replace. If it works on me, and I feel comfortable using it, then of course I would use it. I already use mineral makeup, but not any natural face cleansing products, as I’ve found Proactiv to work best for me.

  12. I am very interested in learning as much as I can in natural beauty/ greening beauty treatments. I have two girls and hope to be well armed with the knowledge so that I may instill in them living green, even in beauty.

  13. I would love to find a natural alternative to really good shaving cream. I’ve tried some in the past, but they just never seemed to work as well as the regular.

  14. I would love to replace my astringent and moisturizer with natural alternatives. Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. Entering again. Thanks again for a fantastic giveaway. This is a book I’d really love to win. Thanks!

  16. I would love to switch my night cream with one that is all-natural, especially since it is something I wear overnight.

  17. I would also like to find a natural alternative to deodorant. Since I was a youth I have noted several rashes, pains and neurological disturbances related to over the counter deodorants.
