My goodness, what a different giveaway for dkMommy Spot! Is that what you’re thinking? In a way, it is the perfect giveaway. When one considers all the medications prescribed in this country every day for everything from the sniffles to sexual dysfunction, it’s a breath of fresh air to find a book that helps women solve a very important issue without involving a pharmaceutical. Of course some women have physical issues that only medication seems to help. But for most, there is a deeper emotional cause at the root of the problem.
Author Shannon Ethridge wrote The Sexually Confident Wife for these women. The book is written in a tone that is sensitive to many issues the married woman may not feel comfortable discussing. Etheridge helps the reader discover what’s really going on in a woman’s heart that may be holding her back from enjoying an intimate relationship with her husband. Having had much baggage in the past, Etheridge openly discusses how she overcame several obstacles and improved her marriage by gaining sexual confidence.
Shannon Ethridge is so considerate of the women who will read her book that she took a few extra steps. Every book of this nature tends to have photos or drawings of couples with some suggestions on spicing up one’s love life. But the drawings in this book are not of perfect large-chested skinny women. They’re women of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. Not the least bit intimidating for anyone dealing with a not-so-perfect self image. And the dust jacket comes off the book to reveal a plain black cover and the letters SCW on the spine. No need to have children reading the cover, and no one has to know what you’re reading.
