Looking to add some great new flavors to your kitchen? I often cook with coconut oil; it’s a versatile oil that can handle very high heat better than the others, and the flavor it offers is like no other. I’ve been trying out Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil lately, and although I’ve used many other brands in the past, I’m being honest when I tell you that Tropical Traditions is the best I’ve tried. Some coconut oils I’ve used smelled a hint rancid when they were supposedly fresh off the shelf. Others had a kind of lumpy texture to it, possibly too much time on the shelf as well. But Tropical Traditions has all their bases covered when it comes to fresh coconut oil.
Tropical Traditions’ Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is 100% USDA Organic. It’s fresh; not rancid, not lumpy. My favorite part? Opening that jar for the first time! It smells like fresh coconuts. I just had to try it right away, so I hopped right into the book Virgin Coconut Oil and tried out a few recipes. I was not disappointed, nor was my family. I do use it more often for cooking, now that I’ve found the good stuff. (You can get that book for free here.)
So, here’s some more giveaway fun! Tropical Traditions is giving one dkMommy Spot reader a free quart of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil! ($37.50 retail.) Read on and get entered!

So Tropical Traditions and I have known each other for a while. I live in California and I used to go to college in Oklahoma. Well, when I was flying back to Oklahoma from Christmas break, I had to go through security with 2 of these sealed, unopened, glass jars of coconut oil that my dad bought me. I was going to take it back to my dorm to cook with (just try finding an healthy food stores in Oklahoma… I dare you. P.S. there is none near the school.) Anyway, I’m going through security and TSA goes through my bag and takes out my coconut oil. Apparently they had never seen it before and they… THREW IT AWAY. They said it was a liquid because it was an oil… coconut oil is SOLID, like deodorant, at room temperature. Oooh, I was so pissed off, I was literally fuming (that stuff is NOT cheap.)
Ok, back to the entry. I learned that Tropical Traditions also sells grass fed meat. If you’re going to take it on an airplane, make sure you pack it up nice lest TSA tells you it’s a liquid because it contains a fat and throws it away.

Peanut Butter. I think it would be great in cooking.
Found this recipe I must try right away, Chicken with Citrus-Garlic-Ginger Sauce
served with RED RICE! Exceptionally good.
delicious & good for skin& hair too cool..thx for the contest
Oh shoot, everybody wants this too…this is something I won’t buy myself, it is an ultimate luxury..read a book about coconute oil…for one thing, until Americanized foods were introduced to Polynesians, Hawaiians, they had incredibly low heart disease…the soy industry created a lot of lies about Coconut and Palm oils in the 70’s to take over the market. Magic Johnson credits Coconut Oil partially to his healing of HIV, because there’s an acid in it that apparently helps the immune system tremendously…..Wonderful giveaway.
Yum, I’d love to try the Organic Peanut Butter!

I love rice in exotic varieties so I would love to try the Forbidden Rice.
Great stuff! It can help you lose weight by the medium chain fatty acids found in coconut oil boosts the body’s metabolism, raises body temperatures, and helps provide greater energy which can lead to weight loss and it also contains lauric acid and it supports the body’s immune system, its neat that lauric acid is found in human mother’s milk
I would love to try
Thanks

Organic Moisturizing Creams: hand-made creams contain no alcohols, no artificial fragrances, and no petroleum products. I have sensitivities to frangrances so I would certainly use their unscented version.
