26_SILVERCM_36_3I know that not all my readers can go completely natural all the time.  Many of you are vegetarians and prefer not to use any animal products at all, such as down in comforters.  Others are just plain allergic!  So when I found out Select Comfort had a hypoallergenic down-alternative cotton True Silver Comforter, I was curious.  Would it work as well as down?

I’ve been using down comforters for years, so I’m used to how they feel.  They heat up well, but sometimes they overheat and wake me halfway through the night.  The True Silver Comforter from Select Comfort actually has silver fiber woven in that regulates body temperature.  To my surprise, it really works.  It heats up well, then seems to maintain body temperature without going over the top.  This makes it a good choice year round, avoiding needing a second blanket.  And since the comforter is cotton with silver fiber and only 5% polyester, it makes it a good natural choice for down-alternative bedding.

Another feature I really like is the comforter’s ability to reduce bacterial growth and odors.  The silver is naturally anti-bacterial, so even if your pet sleeps with you, you’ll not have to worry about the odors he may bring along.
