For many of us, the New Year means resolutions – decisions to live our lives healthier, more conscious of what we eat and how we treat our bodies. Perhaps you’ve considered serving your family meals with less or no meat. Or maybe you’re ready to take the plunge into vegetarianism. Either way, one great resource is the Vegetarian Journal.
I’ve been checking out an issue and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Although my family is not completely vegetarian, I have been in the past and quite honestly I see all the benefits and have been contemplating returning to it. With a magazine like Vegetarian Journal, I think that decision would be rather exciting. The magazine is filled with healthy recipes, nutritional information on seasonal fruits and vegetables, scientific updates, and articles on maintaining the lifestyle. What it’s not filled with? Ads. Vegetarian Journal is published by The Vegetarian Resource Group which is a nonprofit organization. So if you’ve ever subscribed to a magazine but found you were only “enriched” by wall-to-wall ads, you know what a treat it is to find a magazine of great articles without the filler! All in all, it’s one magazine I’ll be proud to subscribe to. I think my whole family will feel better for it!
Whether you’re vegetarian or just trying to consume more healthy fruits and vegetables, you’ll find great benefit from Vegetarian Journal. They’d like to give one dkMommy Spot reader a free one-year subscription! Just follow the rules below to enter.

New Giveaway! Vegetarian Journal, One-Year Subscription: http://tinyurl.com/86bs3o
Good Morning! I would LOVE to receive a subscription to the Vegetarian Journal. Yesterday was my 6 month anniversary of being vegetarian. At the beginning of last year, I was plagued by headaches and migraines. I decided to go completely veg and try to purchase all food locally. The migraines/headaches stopped, the weight came off (20+ pounds) and I feel better and have more energy than I’ve had in years!
I love your blog and feed my family as healthy as I can (my 9yo son only eats veggies that are raw).
Thanks!

I am starting a new year with better eating and this would help me immensely!!
I would love this, because while my hubby loves meat, I would love to encorporate more vegetarian meals into our week. Not only would it cut down the cost of groceries, but the health factor in my opinion is huge. This would be great! Thanks…

I would love to win this magazine because this year I want to be healthier. I have never been a huge vegetable fan but I realize the importance of adding them to my diet. My boyfriend and I both want to cook healthier dishes this year and I need a little guidance as I move away from the French, cream-based sauces which I am accustomed to cooking. I need inspiration to lead a healthier lifestyle.

I’d love to win the subscription to Vegetarian Journal……..I’m a vegetarian and run out of ideas for new dishes, and I know that this would be a great help.
A subscription would be a perfect 50th birthday celebration for me. I want to embrance this new decade with even more joy, health and love. My husband and I incorporate vegetarian recipes on a weekly basis and this would be a welcome addition.
We are trying to eat healthier as a family and the littlest diva is slowly working her way towards vegetarian- the main reason she’s not yet is because a lot of the food is not very tasty.

I’ve been considering becoming a vegetarian, but I’ve come up short on ideas for meatless dinners. This would be a really helpful magazine.

I LOVE this magazine–NOT because we’re vegetarian, BUT…because I have started to really incorporate more fruits, vegs, less processed and sugary foods into our diet (when money allows). Whenever it’s been possible, I get this mag to get many ideas to take from.

My son went vegetarian over a year ago while away at college. When he comes home to visit on breaks, I’m at a loss what to feed him. I made the mistake of thinking he can pick off pepperoni on pizza…NOT. It would be great to have a resource for cooking some tasty foods so he doesn’t have to live on frozen vegetarian entrees when he comes home, something all of us would enjoy eating too. I have to admit, he does look great (lost a bunch of extra weight) and he says his stomach problems have disappeared since the change.

I would love to have the subscription. I have been giving serious thought to becoming a vegitarian. My only hold back is lack of knowledge in cooking wholesome begetarian meals. I believe the mag would definitely help with that. Thank you.

one of my new years resolutions (and i actually wrote them down this year!) is to cook more meals at home — and this would be the perfect addition to start the year right! YUM
We live in a mixed household. That’s right (GASP!)…my husband eats meat. My sons and I are vegetarians so I’m always on the look-out for recipes that apease the hungry monster in all of us.
I’m a veggie-lovin’ subscriber.
I added this scruptdiddlicious giveaway to our “Free Stuff” page at http://www.ForMyKidsOnline.com/free_stuff.htm
I subscribe. I am very interested in learning more about this type of eating and the magazine looks enticing.
i ‘d love to learn of the lifestyle
I love the Vegetarian Times. Sometimes I check it out of the library. The recipes are usually great. I have a vegan friend, and a very picky eater in my youngest son (who is 13–enough already!). My son is low in iron, and supplements are not having much effect. I’d love to find non-meat things to feed him to raise the iron in his diet. (Something not spinach.)
I’m a subscriber – thanks!
The short answer is I love food. But I have recently started trying to cook healthier since our doctor told us that we better start paying attention to fat content now that I am flirting with forty. (My SO is already there.)
I’d like to learn about more vegetarian ideas and options than I already know. This magazine seems like a good fit for that. Thank you!
I eat mostly vegetarian foods. We aren’t very big on meats. This would be wonderful to cook with. Am a subscriber.
I want to eat healtier but thanks to our current culture I just don’t know how to cook it!
