Yummy Brussels for Sprouts in no Thyme Recipe

Jenn sends another entry along for the Gimme Recipes! Contest.  Every side dish should have a clever name, don’t you think?
Yummy Brussels for Sprouts in no Thyme
 
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
20 brussel sprouts
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 lemon, juiced and zested
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. sea salt
fresh cracked pepper, to taste
3 tbsp. fresh parsley, minced(garnish)
 
    Heat oil in a large sauce pan over medium heat and add garlic.  Let cook 1 minute, being careful not to let it burn.  Next add brussel sprouts and let cook until slightly browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.  Deglaze pan with broth, also adding lemon juice, zest, dried thyme, sea salt and pepper.  Stir to combine flavors, cover and let simmer another 8 to 10 minutes, until tender. 
    Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.

Serves: 4 to 6
